Our story

In early 2006, we, Lotta and Paul from Sweden, visited Hermanus for the first time and instantly fell in love with this charming costal town and its stunning cliff paths. It felt like the perfect escape from the cold Swedish winters. Just three days into our stay, we bought our home at 10 Westcliff Road.

As we renovate the house, we recognized its ideal location – close to the city center and the Cliff Path – made it perfect for a small hotel. After completing renovations and securing the necessary approvals, we proudly converted the house into a guest house in 2008.

A decade later, we had opportunity to purchase our neighbor’s property, allowing us to expand Beluga House. We transformed the old house next door into a self-catering villa and we also built a dining room with a kitchen, along with larger guest rooms and two additional pools.

However, just as we completed these enhancements, the COVID-19 pandemic struck, forcing us to close our doors. After several tough years, we are thrilled to have reopened in November 2025!

Today, we are once again able to welcome guests from all over the globe, many of whom return time and again. Their loyalty brings us immense pride and joy – it’s the greatest complement we could receive!
